About Course

This course is designed to deepen students’ understanding of the entrepreneurial process beyond the foundational level. It focuses on the strategic, financial, and operational dimensions of creating, growing, and sustaining innovative ventures in dynamic business environments. Students will explore advanced concepts such as opportunity recognition in emerging markets, innovation management, venture growth strategies, strategic alliances, entrepreneurial finance, and the role of technology and globalization in entrepreneurship. Emphasis is placed on real-world application through case studies, business simulations, and the development of a comprehensive business growth plan.

The course also examines issues related to intrapreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable business models, enabling learners to understand how entrepreneurial thinking can be applied across sectors and organizational settings. By the end of the course, students will be able to critically evaluate entrepreneurial strategies, make data-driven decisions for venture scaling, and apply innovation-driven approaches to solve complex business challenges.

OBJECTIVES By the end of this module learners should be able to:  Defline entrepreneur, entrepreneurship  Distinguish between:  Entrepreneur and intrapreneur. Commercial and social entrepreneurship, public and private entrepreneurship rural and urban entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and business.  Outline the importance of the study of entrepreneurship  State the negative aspects about entrepreneurship  Establish the link between entrepreneurship and economic growth/economic development

OBJECTIVES: • By the end of this module the learner should be able to: • Define a business opportunity. • Identify business opportunities in a given economy. • State and explain reasons for differences in recognizing /exploiting business opportunities. • Outline the entrepreneurship process. • State the essential considerations prior to stating / setting a business.

FINANCING ENTREPRENEURSHIP
OBJECTIVES: By the end of this module the learner should be able to: • Examine the relative importance of various sources of finance available for entrepreneurship. • Examine the role of the stock exchange market in financing entrepreneur ship.

EX-ANTE FINANCIAL EVALUATION OF A PROJECT
OBJECTIVES: By the end of this module the learner should be able to: • Conduct a profitability analysis of a project / business. • Present basic documents of financial analysis. • Present criteria to choose an investment project.
